The Eastern Cape Provincial Book Fair is a flagship initiative of the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture, celebrating the province's rich literary heritage and its role in shaping South Africa's cultural landscape. The 2026 Fair takes place in Hogsback from 23 to 25 October. This calendar listing is for the Saturday programme on 24 October from 12:00 to 14:00. More than a celebration of books, the Fair is a platform for dialogue, creativity and economic empowerment. The programme features book launches, panel discussions, masterclasses, children's activities and book exhibitions. It supports writers publishing in their home languages while honouring the legendary authors of the Eastern Cape who continue to inspire new generations. The Eastern Cape Provincial Book Fair is where stories live, voices rise and communities connect through the power of literature.
