Hogsback is probably most well known for its awesome hiking trails, where you can lose yourself completely in the wonder of the nature scenery, waterfalls and views. Whether you want to do a gentle meander through the forest or test your endurance with a strenuous run or cycle up the mountains, their is a trail for you here!

  • Kempston race in HOgsback

All the trails are marked with a familiar little hog and we ask that our visitors respect the pristine surroundings of our forests, waterfalls and mountains. Some of the trails are on private property and others wind their way through afromontane forest and plantation territory. It is a good idea to make sure that you know beforehand if the walk is for you as they vary in length and difficulty level. Some of the walks are easy and between half an hour to three hours long, while others take much longer and demands an exceptional level of fitness.

We also ask that you make a donation towards the maintenance of our trails. The trails are maintained by volunteer efforts from amazing people and we need all the help that we can get. So make sure that you make at least a R10 donation at the Info Centre to help with the upkeep and ensuring that signs and walkways are navigable.
