\"\"Snow<\/strong><\/h3>
The sun is shining but it is bitterly cold. There are still some snow patches on the southern slope properties but the snow is melting fast as the sun is shining.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
There is still quite a lot of snow left at Boltpoint at the top of the main road towards the Elandsberg<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>

Roads<\/strong><\/h3>

The roads are treacherous. So if you do not have a 4×4 don’t even think about it. The snow froze over overnight, so it was very slippery, muddy and dangerous this morning.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Forestry has closed all the forest roads<\/strong> due to the amount of damage to the roads. So you wont be able to drive into the pine forests at all.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Yesterday we had to pull many cars out of the mud.\u00a0<\/div><\/div><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>

Restaurants and Take-aways<\/strong><\/h3>
The restaurants and take-aways (https:\/\/takeaways.hogsback.info) <\/a>are open, but restaurants can only accommodate 50% of the people and the mountain is full to the brim with snowhunters. So do the math and rather come and visit us next week for a lovely hike!!!<\/div><\/div><\/div>

\"\"<\/a>Things to do<\/strong><\/h3>
Hobbiton<\/strong><\/a> is open for activities (ziplining etc) so go and see what they have on offer (www.hobbiton.co.za<\/a>)<\/div>

Also visit the adventure centre in the main road to see what they can organise. While you are there, pop into the Chocolate shop as well for some njammie choccies.<\/div><\/div><\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
There are some pop-up stores in and around the Edge mountain retreat and we have our Woltree and Happy Hog shop for browsing around.\u00a0<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
Our hiking trails are open as per usual. You can take a wonderful stroll through our lovely Afromontane forests and take in nature, freshly washed by snow!<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>

Outreach<\/strong><\/h3>
If you decide to come up, Don’t forget to bring blankets and tinned foods for our at-risk community. You can leave it at Jikani or the Chocolate shop.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

NO, there is NOOOOOO ACCOMMODATION available on the mountain. Don’t even phone, there is nothing. We will post on the accommodation group<\/strong><\/a> if any becomes available.
