Hobbiton
Hobbiton-on-Hogsback is a non-profit outdoor education centre set within Hogsback’s indigenous forest. For generations it has used adventure and experiential learning to build confidence, resilience, leadership, teamwork and respect for the natural world.
Adventure and experiential learning
Programmes are designed for schools, youth and church groups, universities, community organisations and corporate teams. Activities may include ropes courses, ziplining, abseiling, climbing, hiking, orienteering, raft building and facilitated team challenges, led by trained instructors with an emphasis on safety and personal development.
Facilities for organised groups
The centre offers dormitory accommodation, catering facilities, meeting spaces and outdoor venues for organised groups. Donor-supported camps also help make outdoor education available to children who might not otherwise have access to these experiences.
