Swallowtail Falls
Swallow Tail Falls is a scenic waterfall in Hogsback with several access routes depending on difficulty.
Choose your route
The easiest approach is from Wolfridge Road, following a gentle 20 minutes riverside walk suitable for most fitness levels. Longer routes from the Big Tree or Madonna and Child Falls involve steeper, more strenuous hiking through indigenous forest, with some slippery sections, especially after rain.
Falls, pools and viewpoints
The falls are a tall, multi-drop cascade flowing into pools in a forested valley. Flow varies seasonally and is strongest after rainfall. The pool at the top is deep enough for swimming.
Before you go
Upper viewpoints offer wide valley and canopy views, while lower sections (when accessible) provides a deeper adventure and forest experience.
