Aya Nixon – music that moves between dreams and dance

​We’re excited to welcome Aya Nixon to RedClay Cafè! Currently on a nationwide tour, she is one of South Africa’s most exciting new voices. Aya describes her style as Afrikaans nostalgic sadcore – a rich blend of alt-pop, rock and dreamy synth.

​Her music is exciting as it is beautiful; her bold, dynamic shows are emotionally charged, making you want to dance while tugging at the heartstrings. As part of her “Lente Virewig” tour, she will be joined by music maestro Brendon Bezuidenhout on guitar. The performance will feature a mix of her Afrikaans originals as well as some of her favourite English songs. From playful ballads to soulful, introspective moments, Aya’s set promises a storytelling journey through sound and feeling.
