“Although it’s difficult to believe that on such a cold wet day that this month’s guest speaker will be talking about fire. Allow me to me explain.

Around 1999 a north wind was blowing and a wildfire from the north steadily got closer to Hogsback. Before it was brought under control two homes (some say three) were set on fire and completely lost. 

We have since had fires that have caused losses in village homes but not due to out-of-control wildfires even though some fires approached the outskirts of the village during subsequent years.

Our guest speaker this month is Farah Ally well known to many of us, notably for the total professionalism that she displays during the execution of her responsibilities. 

For those who have heard previous addresses by GSFPA members (Greater Stutterheim Fire Protection Association), please be assured this address will be different concentrating primarily on the role of the GSFPA and the resources, volunteer and otherwise, that are activated during a fire depending on prevailing conditions.
