Wine tasting at The Edge

Boets Nel, owner and cellarmaster of De Krans winery in Calitzdorp, will be in Hogsback to conduct a wine tasting at 6pm on Tuesday 14 September in the Vula Vista room at The Edge.

As you probably know, De Krans makes some of South Africa’s best ports, as well as some interesting red wines using Portuguese grape varieties.

We will be tasting 6 wines: a white, a rosé, 3 reds and a delicious port.

Dinner will follow the tasting and we will be serving:

Mains:

Chicken stack with wood-fired chicken livers and a creamy port sauce, served with mash potatoes and vegetables or

Vegetarian option  – Phyllo cheese and potato wheels with creamy port and mushroom sauce served with vegetables.

Dessert: Homemade pasteis de nata, pears poached in Tinta Barocca served with homemade vanilla ice cream.

R200 per person includes the tasting and the 2 course dinner.
