Daneswold Farm, off Holly Lane at the top end of Hogsback, offers 22-hectares of beauty and tranquility. A dozen cattle graze peacefully in camps adjacent to the secluded accommodation that offers a 270-degree panoramic view of the village, mountains, forest and valley.
The high-end accommodation consists of two dwellings, separated by a large garden and vegetable patch/orchard. There is the Manor House, which has 4 double en-suite bedrooms (sleeps 8) and the Country Cottage, which can sleep 4.
Daneswold accommodation is extremely secluded, private and secure.

THE COUNTRY COTTAGE
The cottage, built for Ruth Andersen, Niels’s mother, as an artist studio was converted 13 years ago into a comfortable, high-end holiday cottage that can comfortably sleep 4, although it is also ideal for a romantic getaway.
- A double bedroom and a second bedroom with 2 single beds that can be turned into a king-size bed. Electric blankets on all beds.
- Spacious, open-plan living area comprising of lounge, kitchen, scullery, dining area. Lots of natural light and splendid views.
- Fully equipped kitchen with gas hob, microwave, electric oven, toaster, kettle and full-sized fridge/freezer. All cutlery and crockery supplied.

THE MANOR HOUSE
The Manor House boasts humble beginnings as a wattle and daub rondawel built by Erik Andersen, Niel’s father, as a weekend getaway in the 1960s. It naturally grew along with the development of the farm, until finally, it was converted into the spacious and comfortable home, steeped in happy memories, it is today.
It is surrounded by a large, established garden, including a herb garden
- 4 en-suite double bedrooms. All with electric blankets and heat source (3 rooms have woodburning stoves, 1 has a gas heater). 3 Bathrooms have showers and 4th has a bath. All linen, towels and basic toiletries supplied.
- Incredible, “foodie” kitchen. Fully equipped with high-end appliances (5-burner gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, Siemens coffee maker, woodburning Defy cast iron oven, double-door fridge/freezer/ice maker, microwave etc.) and a dining room table that can seat 10
- Lovely lounge with plush leather sofas, roaring fireplace, flatscreen TV with DSTV premium and Netflix, DVD player and excellent sound system
- Book-filled shelves and board games
- Sunroom for secluded reading and reflective moments
- Sheltered, undercover braai area with cast iron dining furniture to seat 10

Rates
Cottage: R1500 for 2 people, R100 per extra person (up to 4 total occupants) per night
Manor House: R3000 for 1-4 people, R4000 for 5-8 people.
Pets: R200 for 1-2 pets per stay, R400 for 3-4 pets per stay
