Hobbiton operates as an Outdoor Education Centre located in Hogsback, delivering exhilarating adventure camps tailored for schools, churches, corporate groups, and underprivileged children through sponsored programs. Our diverse offerings cater to schools, churches, families, and corporate entities seeking courses in Leadership Development, Environmental Education, Team Building, and Personal Development. Additionally, Hobbiton provides ample opportunities to explore the scenic wonders of Hogsback and its environs. Standard bookings encompass instructor-led activities, comprehensive safety equipment, and facilitation services.

Accommodation
Hobbiton offers accommodation with beds and fully equipped kitchens. For Corporate Camp bookings, there are two options available: the luxury option includes accommodation and meals at one of the hotels in Hogsback with activities at Hobbiton, while the more economical option provides basic accommodation and meals at Hobbiton itself.
Accommodation is provided in dormitories, with separate rooms available for teachers/supervisors. Hobbiton features three dormitories, each capable of accommodating approximately 50 individuals. Additionally, there is space to accommodate an extra 50 people if they are willing to sleep on mattresses placed on the floor.
Please note that Hobbiton does not endorse mixed gender sleeping arrangements. Each bed includes a mattress, and guests must bring their own bedding or arrange for rental services in advance.
Lion’s Dormitory
- Sleeps 50 Includes
- This dormitory sleeps a total of 50 guests. The dormitory has double bunk beds and its own communal bathroom. There are three teachers’/facilitators’ rooms with three private bathrooms, each sleeping two guests.
Round Table Dormitory
- Sleeps 62 Includes
- This dormitory sleeps a total of 62 guests. The dormitory is equipped with double bunk beds and has its own communal bathroom. There are two teachers’/facilitators’ rooms with two private bathrooms, each sleeping two guests.
Rotary Dormitory
- Sleeps 50 Room
- This dormitory sleeps a total of 50 guests. The dormitory has double bunk beds and a communal bathroom. There are two teachers’/facilitators’ rooms with two private bathrooms, one sleeps two guests and the other sleeps four guests.
Conferencing and workshops
Hobbiton has a large recreation hall, a conference room as well as several “break-away” rooms for workshops.
Catering
Our kitchens are fully equipped with all the essentials for catering, including cutlery and crockery. However, if you choose the self-catering option, please note that providing toilet paper, dishwashing liquid, and rubbish bags is your responsibility.
Hobbiton offers three different priced menus to meet your catering needs. We can accommodate special dietary requirements with advanced notice of at least 5 days. Full payment for catering must be made 2 weeks in advance.
Alternatively, you have the option to self-cater while still having access to our catering facilities, including cutlery and crockery.
