Lowestoffe country estate Lowestoffe Country Lodge is situated on four adjoining, holistically managed farms in the scenic Hogsback area. This pristine setting provides the ideal opportunity for family holidays and weekend getaways.

They offer self-catering, up-market accommodation in 3 houses each located on separate farms, creating a private yet safe holiday experience. The gardens around the houses have large lawns and the views are all spectacular. The decor is tasteful and simple, providing a “home away from home” experience. The topography is suited to outdoor activities and we specialize in horse trail rides, fly-fishing (trout, yellows & bass), hiking and mountain biking.

Accommodation

Trout Lodge

Built in 1990, this attractive up-market house is 300 meters from the main trout dam and walking distance from the stables. With beautiful views of the dam and rocky ridges, it is a favourite of those keen on fly fishing. Trout Lodge is 26km from the village of Hogsback.

Rockford Lodge

Situated on the farm Rockford Park, the house nestles alongside a poplar forest with a lovely view over the pastures to the Klipplaat River. The river has numerous scenic spots and deep pools to explore. Rockford Lodge is 14km from Hogsback.

Mountain Lodge

Built around 1927, this typical old South African farmhouse has charm and its main feature is the beautifully wide passages with wooden floors. Its generous proportions, especially the huge main bedroom, illustrate the gracious living of former years. The house nestles at the foot of the Mountain with breath-taking views in all directions. Mountain Lodge is 15km from Hogsback.

Sleep 8 People: 4 bedrooms – two double and two twin rooms (one double room en suite with bath)

Walnut Lodge

This is the house where it all started in 1994! Today we only use Walnut Lodge when the other three lodges are fully booked. It is an old farmhouse with wooden floors, spacious garden and flat let attached, which can sleep an additional two people. The main homestead is nearby.

3 bedrooms – three double rooms (two single beds in one of the double rooms)
Sleeps 8 People (2 in flatlet)

Rates

Each house has a minimum rate of R900 per night (2 adults pay R900 for the house)
