St Patrick-on-the-hill Chapel
Welcome to St Patrick-in-the-hill chapel, an interdenominational church that offers services every Sunday at 10 am, as well as on religious and special days. Even though the chapel itself belongs to the Anglican church, the various denominations take turns leading the morning services. Please consult our Facebook page for updated information: https://web.facebook.com/stpatrickonthehill

The chapel also provides space for fellowship after Sunday services, where refreshments are served, and community members can connect in a warm, informal setting. We encourage all attendees to stay afterwards, meet new friends, and share in the spirit of togetherness that defines our congregation.
Things to do:
Place of Solace and Reflection
The chapel is also a place of solace for those seeking a quiet moment away from scheduled services. Whether you are attending a special event or simply passing by, we invite you to pause and spend a few peaceful moments of reflection within its historic walls. The welcoming atmosphere ensures that everyone, regardless of background or tradition, feels at home here. The chapel is always open!
The Prayer Walk
“As I step onto the trail, I take a deep breath and let the peacefulness of this sacred space wash over me. The gentle rustling of the leaves and the fragrance of blooming flowers remind me of your constant presence, Lord. With each footstep, open my heart to your guidance and trust that you walk beside me, leading me toward renewal and hope.” – Prayer Walk pilgrim
The St Patrick-on-the-hill congregation invites you to join us in our Prayer Walk, dedicated to spiritual reflection. In the foyer, you will find a guide to enhance your contemplative experience.
Weddings and Baptisms

The chapel has been a sought-after venue for weddings and baptisms over the years. It can seat up to 70 people for smaller ceremonies. Should you wish to exchange your wedding vows at the chapel, please get in touch with Lynden Wittstock on 084 608 0212.
Wall of Remembrance

There are two Walls of Remembrance where you can either store your loved one’s ashes or place a plaque in their memory. Contact Norma Fivaz, the church warden, on 082 414 7743 for costs and procedures.
Community Involvement

St Patrick-on-the-hill forms an integral part of the greater Hogsback community. The congregation supports the Hogsback Unity Group (HUG). It also provides financial support to both Jikani Community Centre and Hobbiton Outdoor Education Centre, and assists residents in need.
Additionally, we visit those who are unwell. If you know someone in our community who needs care or support, please reach out to Norma Fivaz or Lynden Wittstock.
