Goodbye
dearest
Brandon
You will be missed!
It is with great sadness that we have to share the incredibly devastating news that one of Hogsback’s amazing young people has passed away. Brandon Heidtmann was a devoted father, partner and beloved son and our thoughts and prayers are with Libby, Robert, Cheryl, and all of his family and many friends.
His Hogsback family will remember him as generous in spirit, always with a ready smile, and eager to help in whichever way possible. He brought light and laughter wherever he went and our hearts are heavy at the thought of not seeing his cheerful face around our village again.

The places we are
for Brandon (11.3.1995 – 29.7.2022)
When Ed read the message,
and cried, “Oh no!”
my heart shook, head was where?
It’s one of our children,
something said. And then
it was you. One of our children
in the greater sense –
full of gifts, intelligence,
kind qualities, your life
waiting for you to keep on
building it.
Now not. Not now. Now never.
How do we surrender
to the ache?
Now, it’s as if I hear you
say, “Talk, talk to me,
I hear you.”
So here’s this poem –
for others to read, maybe they, too, can say what they need,
now, now, and forever –
we can, and we have to
continue to walk,
sharing our talk
with you, in the places we are,
where you were, or have never been.

On Tuesday I was at the Hardware store and Brandon , kobus and I had a lovely chat and laugh about the people playing Bowls, I was not having a great day but after chatting with Brandon I left the Hardware store feeling positive. Brandon was always friendly towards me and I enjoyed running into him at the Edge while the rugby was on. Brandon came out in the rain to help my boss he come over on a Saturday to help my Dad. I was deeply saddened to hear that he is no longer with us. Brandon you will be missed! My deepest sympathy to Brandon’s family. Peace and love River

I may have encountered Brandon at The Edge or at the shops maybe one hundred times. He was always friendly, kind and helpful. I am deeply saddened that such a delightful human beings life has been ended so unexpectedly. All my heartfelt condolences to his family who were so close and loving. Brandon was a wonderful human being who often made me smile . Words fail to express our sorrow
I was devastated to learn of Brandon’s passing. What a remarkable young man he was – able to bridge the divides of age and race with a wisdom far beyond his years. He was inherently kind and always so willing to help to make others’ days easier. Such a loss to our community. My deepest condolences to Libby and Robert, all of Brandon’s family and his very wide circle of friends. MHDSRIP.
Dearest Brandon, we will miss your smile, your kindness and your good spirit. One day you are, one day you are no longer, but you’ll always be in our hearts and our memories. This is a terrible and painful loss that baffles. Angus and I convey our most sincere condolences to Robert, Libby and respective families.
Dearest God. I pray that you bring comfort, courage and healing to Brandon’s family . We thank you God for the difference we know Brandon made in many people’s lives including mine. Sharing smiles and words. Thank you God for the blessing of Brandon in this world and the beautiful memories left for most of us to cherish. We celebrate Brandon’s life.
Brandon, you’ve left us with more questions than answers, as well as a reminder to be more gentle and appreciative of one another.
It was an honour and a privilege to work with you, you were always calm, no matter the situation and you were the “go to” person, who could always solve a problem.
Thank you for making this world a better place while you journeyed a little while with us, I hope that the love and appreciation that we all feel for your beautiful gentle soul, is felt in some way or dimension.
My deepest and most sincerest condolences to Robert, Libby and the rest of the family, I wish I had words of comfort, but how can mere words comfort at this time? I will pray though for your comfort and acceptance at this terrible time of grief. Xxx
Thank you for sharing your precious and kind heart with us. Your absence has left a massive hole in our hearts. I hope you have found peace. Sending love to your family and loved ones ❤️ We will honour and remember you by holding a safe space for those who are in pain. Natalie
