High Goonvrea

High Gonvrea on Hogsback High Goonvrea on Hogsback is a beautiful wooded property of 20 acres in Tor Doone Lane. Explore the 15 acres of woodland and garden on this spectacular property. Walk to the top along the path at the edge of the property and then climb Tor Doone if you are feeling energetic. Or simply sit in the garden and listen to the birds. Watch out for the Turaco (or Knysna Lourie). When it launches into flight the spectacular crimson colour under its wings is visible. There is deliberately no wifi or TV in this cabin as it’s designed as a restful retreat in nature. The perfect privacy and peace of this little cabin in the woods will refresh your mind and spirit. It has three self-catering units. All the cottages are set in a beautiful garden at the bottom of Tor Doone mountain adjacent to a forest walk.

The Cottage at High Gonvrea (Sleeps 5)

Cottage bedroom at High Gonvrea In HOgsback The spacious cottage has a sitting room/dining area with separate kitchen with washing machine, fridge, glass hob and microwave. It also has an Aga-type stove for warm ambiance if required.

It has two large bedrooms, both with Queen-sized beds and electric blankets. One bedroom has an additional single bed. The bathroom has both a bath and a shower.

Wifi is available.

Woodland Cabin (Sleeps 2)

Studio at High Gonvrea in Hogsback The Woodland Cabin is a brand new retreat in its own private woodland and garden. It’s small but perfectly designed to include a sitting area in front of a wood burner, a fully-equipped kitchenette with counter top oven and stove, a microwave and all appliances. The bedroom has a built in cupboard and a separate bathroom with shower, basin and toilet. There is a covered patio overlooking the beautiful old garden with table and two folding chairs. Another two chairs are available on request. A small weber braai is supplied.

The Garden Studio. (Sleeps 2)

The Studio Flat at High Goonvrea is set in a little garden away from the main cottage. It consists of a living area in which there is a queen sized bed, a separate kitchen with fridge, freestanding stove and microwave and a separate small bathroom, which has a shower, basin and toilet. The Studio Flat has its own little patio and also the use of a beautiful rolling lawn surrounded by trees set off to the side of it – Ideal for flopping down with a book or lying and looking up at the stars at nigh. The occupants of the flat may explore the entire 5 acre garden, apart from the private lawn in front of the main cottage. No TV nd Wifi.
