Swallowtail in Hogsback We welcome you to our Caravan Park, Swallowtail Country Estate – which is also the home of the famous Hogsback Weather Stone with an uninterrupted view of the three hog mountains.

Swallowtail is situated walking distance to shops, restaurants and hiking trails. We know what caravanners want and we built our park around those needs. There is a spacious communal Trekker lounge with a big fireplace, where you can get together, play pool and just chill. Our communal ablution facilities is clean and neat.

We also have some self catering chalets and cabins available for those who do not feel like camping as well as accommodation for larger groups of guests who want to stay together.

Bring comfortable walking shoes along if you plan to visit some of our wonderful waterfalls nearby.

The Cottage (Sleeps 10)

The Cottage has a lovely view on the Hogsback Mountains with peaceful surroundings.

This self-catering cottage sleeps up to 10 guests, has 2 en-suite rooms on the bottom floor and 1 double bed with 4 single beds and a bathroom in the loft. There is also a guest toilet downstairs. It offers a huge open plan living area with a cosy fireplace onto a dining area. Stay in on a rainy day and enjoy the full DSTV on a large flatscreen.

The cottage is fully equipped with linen, towels and extra blankets. You will find everything you need in the kitchen including a 6 plate gas oven with stove and a large family sized fridge. Outside on the patio there is a braai area with a stainless steel braaier with benches and tables.

Melody Cottage (sleeps 2)

Our Melody cottage is perfect for a couple. It is n open plan wooden cabin with a huge fireplace, full DSTV and is fully equipped.

It has a lovely kitchen area and outdoor braai area.

While relaxing on the veranda you can enjoy a lovely view over the Hogsback Mountains.

The New Family Accommodation and Boma (sleep 4)

“Kom trek saam”

This unique family space consists of a lager of 2 cabins, one with a double bed and the other with 2 singles. It is neatly furnished and comes with linen and towels. and a family boma, communal kitchen and bathroom facilities in he shape of a lager.

The boma is surrounded with sneeze wood and under roof, This forms part of the family units and solely for their use. If required, we can also rick up a tent with a double mattress at extra cost.This lovely setting is ideal for a family/friend groups who adore the outdoors. They can set up camp around the family units with tents or caravans.
