What is new at Level 2?

Now that Hogsback is open again for travel and leisure visits, everybody wants to know what they can and cannot do under level 2. So here it is:

#VisitHogsback

Yes please. Come and enjoy the hiking trails, waterfalls and forests. You can come as a day visitor or come and spend a few days here, which, of course, is much better!

The Info Centre
Our Info Centre has temporarily moved to our little Woltree Village shop, which can be found at the beginning of Main road on the right, as you come up the pass, opposite Swallowtail Country Estate. Glen is only to happy to direct you in the right direction, and you will also be able to get some maps and advice from her, while perusing her quaint little shop. We suggest that you buy some of her amazing homemade lemon cordial and pasta salad (to die for!).

Alcohol sales
We do have a liquor store which is licensed to sell alcohol for off-site consumption and is open from 09:00 to 17:00, from Mondays to Thursdays. That means that the store is closed on Fridays, weekends, and public holidays. You can, however, buy alcohol at licensed premises, like bars, restaurants and hotels, for on-site consumption over the weekend, until the curfew of 22:00.

Hotels, guesthouses and self-catering
Under level 2 leisure accommodation is now allowed, even if you are from another province – “subject to a restriction on the number of persons allowed in such establishments to not more than 50% of the available floor space, with patrons observing a distance of at least one and a half metres from each other”. Most of the accommodation places are open for business and are adhering to the Covid-19 regulations procedures and sanitation practices. Make sure that you ask your host about that and what they will require of you. Everybody is desperate to get out of town and let their hair down, so make sure that you book well in advance!! You can complete the booking information form here, which will go out to all the establishments, and those who still have space available for your stay, will get back to you with prices and availability.
